Cesc not heading to Milan…for now

By Randy Osae

Cesc Fabregas is an admirer of AC Milan but by no means a potential employee of the Italian club.

The Spaniard’s clarification came after constant headlines claimed his short sentences of admiration of Milan (after being asked an idle football question by an interviewer from Gazetta dello Sport) meant a move to the Italian capital soon, is on hands.

Arsenal’s captain has been the most tipped for an exodus this summer, even so that his new role at the club is assumed as a convincing reward for him to remain in north London. But Fabregas’ newest act was to reiterate his commitment to Arsenal, with Barcelona, Real Madrid and AC Milan all keeping tabs on him.

“It is true that I said I admire Milan for their rich history and the way they play football but that is as far as the story goes,” said Fabregas.

“I am honoured to be wearing the captain’s armband for Arsenal and I am 100 per cent committed to this Club. My future is here.”

At a similar time last year, Alex Hleb’s exit was being hinted. Mathieu Flamini was also lured by Milan out of the blue. Whatever the case, the fact is; Arsenal players have always remained poised to depart when these hearsays begin to emerge.

That said, these transfer gossips should be dealt with cautionbecause sooner or later, they tend to occur. Perhaps Fabregas could fortunately be a different case.
